Parents or grandparents are welcome to attend this fun, hands-on class with their child. Explore, participate and learn about chemistry together through sloppy and fizzy experiments. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please register with the child's name.

The winter/spring theme is "Animals Here, Animals There", where children will investigate where animals live, what they look like, an the noises they make in Spanish speaking countries. Using the newly released EV3 Robotics System, students will be taught foundational building and introduced to programming concepts while learning about the new Sensors, Motors, and Special Technics components. Working in small teams, students will build and program smart robots, including navigation and manipulation, using the different Sensors and Motors. Students will also learn about basics of Gear Systems as well as effective Chassis and Attachment design concepts and how to test the functionality of their robots using problem-solving skills.
Learn and use elements of Java coding to create a Minecraft Mod. Students will create a set of tools and weapons, as well as combine the functions of the tools into one super-tool. Students should be comfortable with keyboarding, and of course playing Minecraft. At the end of class take home your Mods to share with family and friends. Bring a USB drive, nut-free snacks and drink each day.
It’s time to put your engineering mind to work. Teaming up in pairs and using special LEGO Educational sets, you’ll have an engaging hands-on experience creating multiple mechanical animals that move. Kids learn about logic, sequencing, gears and much more.
Video sensing allows students to design and program their own video games and then test them by interacting with the program via webcam. In this Scratch program, students work together to create their own games, art and musical instruments while exploring coding foundations. All students receive a certificate and an Engineering for Kids t-shirt.
We will create our own video game set in a dojo that we will defend from a ninja attack. We will create a storyboard to outline the rules of play and characters for our game. Then, we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the class, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game. All students receive a certificate and an Engineering for Kids t-shirt.

Our STEAM-tastic (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) tribes will take on challenges at star-studded destinations including Wicked Witch Twist, Wizardry Academy and Dinosaur Park. Students will take on challenges that will develop deeper connections to creative thinking, critical thinking, and top tier metacognitive skills all while having fun building, creating and testing different projects made out of a variety of materials. An example is our Wicked Witch Twist where students will learn about tornadoes and the enhanced Fujita Scale. They will then need to engage in the engineering process through brainstorming ideas, planning designs, testing and retesting in order to keep Dorothy safe.

Learn to use tools and machines to make water in the desert and create and program Minecraft Robots to do the mining for you. Use command blocks to enhance your maps and learn to use WorldEdit to create unique maps. Basic Windows and keyboarding skills required. Please bring a peanut-free snack, beverage and a USB Jump Drive to save your work.
Become an engineer in medieval times. We are going back in time to the era of great castles and knights to create exciting contemporary inspired machines. Your mission is to engineer the most effective castle sieging, castle defending, castle building machines and more. This is an awesome class to challenge and build your engineering skills. Kids take home a project every day.
